Nightwing
So DC comics has relaunched their entire universe with all new number one issues and everything. Amongst the rebootees is one of my perennially favorite characters, Nightwing, AKA Dick Grayson AKA the original Robin the boy wonder. They did a slight redesign on his costume which I like a lot and here is a drawing I did of it.

I posted earlier that there would be a lot of drawings of my character Val showing up on here and I am a man of my word. I did this one on a Cintiq in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro

John Carter of Mars
I'm very excited for Andrew Stanton's John Carter movie that's coming out next year. I've always been a big fan of the Edgar Rice Burroughs books and the character in general. If you haven't read them, you should before the movie comes out, they were way ahead of their time.

Val
A quick drawing I did last night of Princess Valeria (Val to her friends) one of the main characters of my and my partner Nicole's project Sky Kings. I played with the style a little the official design can be seen here. She will probably be one of the more prevalent subjects that will appear on this blog in the weeks, months, and hopefully years to come.

All we know is, he's called the Stig
The new series of Top Gear started last night here in America so to commemorate the occasion I give to you a drawing of their tame racing driver. Some say he appears on Japanese banknotes and that he has no understanding of clouds, all we know is...

Alas poor Conan
Despite the poor reviews and even worse box office performance, I still love Conan the barbarian (especially the Savage Sword of Conan comics from days of yore) so to reaffirm my unwavering support for Mr. Howard's greatest creation, I've done a drawing and here it is.

My first post: Professor Gadabout
After years on Deviantart I thought I'd give a sketch blog a shot, I figured it would be good motivation to draw in the old sketchbook more. Anyway my first post is a character I designed for a project my writing partner came up with, his name is Professor Gadabout, he's sort of a Victorian era British explorer/adventurer. It's Pitt pen and Copic warm grey markers on Canson drawing paper.
